The future and future events has always sparked an interest. Many people know that the Bible does foretell future events and often ask during a time of national calamity like 9/11, did the bible talk about the 9/11 attack in advance? Are we living in what the Bible calls the end times?

There are several reasons for us to look into Bible prophecy, but in order to get a correct perspective of Bible prophecy, we need to understand where Bible prophecy fits in

    God's authorship

God demonstrates his authorship of the Bible by writing history in advance. (Isaiah 46:10)

When we see the flowers, animals, stars, and our own design we see God's hand and His awesome workmanship.
Psalm 19:1 The heavens declare the glory of God; and the firmament showeth the work of his hands.
Psalm 139:14 I will praise thee: for I am fearfully and wonderfully made

Similiarly there is a definite design in scriptures. Every number, place, name and detail is in the Bible by design.
As we walk through Bible prophecy this will become more evident.

    Prophecies point to Jesus

Jesus told religious leaders that they searched the scriptures to obtain eternal life but the scriptures all point to Him. Jesus is the source of eternal life and that is the reason why all prophecy points to Him.

John 5:39 You examine the Scriptures carefully because you suppose that in them you have eternal life. Yet they testify about me. I John 5:11 God has also said that he gave us eternal life and that this life comes to us from his Son.

    God's sovereignty

Just to know that God's aware of everything. There is nothing that is going on that He is unaware of . Things which are going to happen, the things which are happening right now, He knows it all. And the best place to be in this uncertain world would be in His hands, for He holds the future.
